The Longest Day – Supporting the Cancer Council Charity

Team ACL WA will be taking part in this years’ The Longest Day charity event.

Raising money for Cancer Council Australia the team will be completing 72 holes of golf in one day at the Araluen Golf Resort

Cancer Council is an Australian based charity that works across every area of cancer, from research to prevention and support.

In 2019 alone, the charity provided:

  • support and information to 38,000 callers,
  • over 56,000 hours of volunteer driver time to help people with cancer get to their treatment,
  • almost $2,000,000 worth of free legal and financial advice,
  • over 1,900 wigs and headwear to Australians experiencing hair loss as a result of their cancer treatment.

The Cancer Council rely on the generosity of the Australian community to continue their life-saving work, so we are taking part in their charity event to support the incredible work they do.

The Longest Day is an endurance golf marathon designed to test your skill, strength, and stamina. The challenge is to successfully complete your chosen number of holes from dawn to dusk and raise funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services.

Our Commercial Director, Simon Shaw, will be taking part along with colleague Morgan Hawkins and fellow lawyer Blair Simpson.
